Happy New Year.

Well its been a funny old year for me.  Both personally and professionally.  For both I would have to say the year has ended better than it started.  Cant ask for more than that really.

The blog seems to be going from strength to strength.  In November it celebrated the first birthday and 50k views.  Not forgetting the massive £8.30 made this year in commission from the adverts!

I would like to send out big thanks to Graeme Park, Glenn Miller, Baby D, Thomas Foley, Rosco, Glenn Miller and Andy Farley who all gave such amazing interviews for the blog.

Rosco in particular has really supported the blog and provided some of the most popular mixes.

I have already got an amazing interview back for 2012.  Its a real good one from one half of a legendary DJ Duo from the 90s.  See if you can guess who it is.

To celebrate e NYE I have a super rare live recording from The Orbit 1994.  The recording is of the whole night at the club.  Subsequently its been split into 8 parts.

I hope you all have a safe and happy NYE.  Hope to see you on the dancefloor in 2012.

Enjoyxxx

Mrs Wood live 1994 (Techno/trance/nrg)

Here is another rare live set from the mighty Mrs Wood.  This mix is a lot harder than the previous one.  I would guess that its a live set from FF @ Turnmills.  Its got that Monday morning feel about it.

Enjoy.

Mrs Wood - Live mix 1996.

This week is being dedicated to the mighty Mrs Wood.  For those that have not heard of her.  She was resident at FF and Garage.  Two of the best gay / mixed clubs from the 90s.  She also guested all over: including Sundissential and Gatecrasher (OZ tour).

Along with Blu Peter she ruled the React scene in the 90s.  Mrs Wood was the queen to Blu Peters...er queen? She does not DJ anymore.  However, I have a number of her sets recorded.  So will be posting them.

Its a very uplifting trance/techno mix.

Here is the first mix.

Enjoy.

Jam & Spoon - Follow Me (Original Mix) "Full Track"

This tune starts of the Laurent garner mix. Rightly seen as being an all time trance classic. It was played by pretty much everyone and everywhere. From Tall Paul at Trade to Billy Nasty at Open.

In fact The NME even went so far as to call it the greatest dance record of all time when it came out. Poor Billy Nasty got a real slating for adding some beats to the (admittedly very long) breakdown when he played it out.

Anyway, it still sounds amazing today.

Enjoy.

laurent Garnier @ The Orbit 1993.

Continuing all things The Orbit.  Here is a fantastic rare live set from the might Laurent Garnier.  As any reader of this blog will know.  Laurent Garnier is one of my favourite DJs of all time.  His 8 hour sets sorely missed over here.

This is one of his more trancey banging sets.

Compared to the mixes I've posted already This 3 part set is fairly deep.  Hope you still like it.

ORBIT MORLEY 1998-10-31-LaurentGarnier

Westbam @ The Orbit, Leeds 1993

'THE BEASTIE BOYS 'INTERGALACTIC' THE PRISONERS OF TECHNOLOGY DRUM & BAS...

One of my favourite remixes ever. And the tune that nearly cleared the floor when Laurent Garnier played it at The Orbit.

Westbam @ The Orbit 1995

http://www.mediafire.com/?lb822fk8wg5506l

To start off The Orbit trip on the blog.  Here is a live set from one of the most popular guests.  The legendary Westbam.

For those that never made it up North to the small town of Morley.  On the outskirts of Leeds.  The Orbit was a long running Techno Haven.  The fact that it was a bit of an effort to get there and started at 9pm and usually finished about 2am  made it special.  In fact I liked the fact it finished early because I could then get a full night at The Glasshouse.

Clubbers always felt privileged that worldwide renowned guest would venture to the town to play.  My favourite night was when Laurent Garnier virtually cleared the floor when he played ten minutes of hard drum and base and hip hop.  I really liked it.  But The Orbit crowd would only accept Techno in their club.  There was no room for eclectic sets there.

Enjoy the mix.
