TRADE - Turnmills - The LAST DANCE! 16th March 2008
How amazing is this? Such energy at 5pm on a Sunday afternoon.
Trade - The Last Dance Pagano and Malcolm Duffy mixes.
Its the last day of the Trade week on the blog. Thanks to everyone who has sent me such lovely messages and mixes and videos. There will be future Trade weeks to come. I have so many more Trade / Turnmills related mixes I want to share.
I never made it to Trade @ Revenge last night. Although did make the pre-party at Ohso beach bar which was really good despite the rain.
To commemorate the last day I'm posting links for the amazing sets by Malcolm Duffy and Pagano at the last ever Trade @ Turnmills. The Malcolm one in particular has a number of classics on there. Especially 'Gat Decors' and 'Lift your leg up'.

Frankie Knuckles @ Trade 2002.
Yes your eyes aren't deceiving you. Frankie Knuckles played at Trade. In fact he played for the special Mardis Gras allnight Trade party at Turnmills in 2002.
This set along with the Fergie ( who did the later shift) set posted earlier were recorded for Radio 1.
So good soulful stuff for you. A different side to Trade.

Fergie live @ Trade Essential Mix 2002.
Here we have a live Essential mix by Fergie recorded at Trade. Its got a real techno vibe to it. At this point Fergie had really got away for his so called Hard House roots. There are some real classics on here.
'Cameras ready prepare to flash'.
Enjoy

Gonzalo @ Trade March 2000.
Here we have a live set that's a bit more in line with the Hard House sound that Trade pioneered in the mid to late 90s. And for many people is what its most well known for. There are many classic Hard House tunes from that era on this mix.
Gonzalo is playing the Trade room at Fire this coming Monday morning. Enjoy.

Daz Saund July 1993 @ Trade.

A more melodic sound was emerging. This mix highlights that new sound. This mix has some of my favourite tunes from that era: Hocus Pocus, Koma and Cafe del Mar.

Decktition - Love Rush (Remix)
Tall Pauls first track. It came out on the Trade label (via Hooj).
Oh the memories.
Tall Paul - Interview with DJ Tall Paul
An interesting interview with Tall Paul. Some comments about his time at Trade.
Tall Paul @ Trade 1993.
Continuing Trade week. I have a real treat for you. Its a live set from Tall Paul. One of the more forgotten Trade DJs. He was so big on the super club scene that people forget where he came from. For those that don't know. He father used to own Turnmills. This meant that when Tall Paul got his residency at Trade there were accusations of nepotism.
Who cares was always my attitude. He was a fantastic DJ who's happy' style of trance and house fitted in so well for the closing set. He was pretty much the Hooj Choons in house DJ at the time. And I always liked the fact that there was at least one person at Trade each week who was taller than me as well. He was also a really friendly guy.

Smokin Jo @ Trade June 1992.
http://www.mediafire.com/?9ypyn0xp1ujo9u8
And another rare live mix from Trade in 1992. I'm sure that this is by Smoking Jo as its gots loads of her signature tunes from that Summer. Towards the end you can here Daz Saunds coming in with his harder sound.
Enjoy.

Joe Inferno - Tribal Church
Loved this tune. It has stuck with me for nearly 20 years. When it was played at Trade it sent the crowd even more insane.
NRG - He Never Lost His Hardcore (CHILL RECORDS)
Another stand out Trade classic from the early days. I remember buying a copy of this from a dance record shop (remember them) in Camberley and being so excited.
This is one of the seminal tunes identified with Trade pretty much throughout its long history. Remixed on numerous occasions. But still cant beat the original.

Dyewitness - Observing The Earth
One of the biggest anthems at Trade in the early days. Usually played by Trevor Rockcliffe. The first time I heard it I thought it sounded like a gameshow. I didnt realise at the time it sampled The Carpenters. Which was a bit odd as I was really into them at the time.
Trade live July 1991.
Here is another really cool (and rare) live form from Trade. Cannot believe its been 20 Years since this mix! Thanks Brian.
I am not sure 100% which DJ this is. Its either Daz Saund or Trevor Rockcliffe. I lean towards Trevor as its got that more Hardcore sound he was playing at the time. The mix brings together that early 90s Nu-Beat / Belgium Techno and UK Hardcore / Piano sound from that era. Interestingly it finishes with Cola Boy - 7 Ways to Love (Saint Etienne).
